SPECIAL ECONOMIC AND GAMING ZONES IN THE KRASNODAR TERRITORY
The Krasnodar Territory has been receiving massive government investments in the transport and holiday resort infrastructure and will continue to do so over the next five to ten years.
The Russian Government has decided to set up five special holiday and recreation economic zones on the Black Sea coast covering an area of 1,500 hectares. It is to spend about a billion euros on building new roads, airports, power plants and gas pipelines in these zones.
The Blagoveshchenskaya site, with a total area of 800 hectares, is a resort with a capacity of 400,000 places for family seaside holidays. The seaside holiday facilities will be on an all-inclusive basis and cater for water and sports tourists, amateur and professional aquatic sports enthusiasts.
The Vysoky Bereg site, with a total area of 100 hectares, is situated on a plateau adjacent to the residential areas of Anapa. It is a seaside resort for family holidays and sports activities accommodating 15,000 people at a time.
The Krinitsa-Arkhipo-Osipovka site, with an area of 570 hectares, near the city of Gelendzhik, is a prestigious seaside resort, with a capacity of 30,000 places, for “activity holidays”.
Three premium-class and five medium-class hotel complexes are to be equipped with swimming pools, SPA centres, a VIP-class thalassotherapy centre, conference halls and rooms for business meetings, as well as a water-sports centre, a golf club and a tennis academy away from the beach.
The Agria site, with an area of 160 hectares, close to Tuapse, is a mass holiday, camping and sports centre accommodating 18,000 people.
The target consumer segment is the residents of the Krasnodar Territory, medium and low income Russian tourists and motoring tourists who prefer outdoor camping.
The Maly Akhun site, with an area of 100 hectares, is located within the Sochi National Park. It is a holiday resort for business people, offering facilities for business tourism, spas and water tourism.
It caters for tourists with high and medium level incomes, business and creative élites.
It includes a complex of hotels with 8,000 beds, conference halls and negotiating rooms, fitness and entertainment centres, a shopping arcade, a concert hall, several swimming pools and a yachting club, as well as small 4-5-star villas.
The Russian Government is to invest about a billion euros in the infrastructure of the special tourist zones in the Krasnodar Territory. |
