For the company Nestle, a world leader in production of food supplies and the largest investor in the Russian economy, the new factory in the Kuban was the first factory constructed on the territory of Russia from scratch. In 1998 Nestle acquired the controlling shares in the company Khladoprodukt in the town of Timashevsk in Krasnodar Krai. This ice cream factory adds capacity to the production of ice cream of Nestle in the town of Zhukovskoi. In 2001 a line for packaging instant coffee Nescafe was put into operation at this factory. The new factory produces the instant coffee Nescafe Classic. Nestle will invest up to $120 million in new production over the entire period of realisation of this project. At the beginning approximately 300 workers were hired. With the development of production their number at the business Khladoprodukt will be increased to 700.

In March 2003 the company Cargill celebrated ten years of activity in Krasnodar Krai and on the grain market of Russia. During this time we have built a reliable reputation as one of the most respected companies in the grain market, meeting world standards, maintaining strict ethics, and developing a positive image among grain traders and our reliability as a buyer of grain from Russian farmers. Over the last two years the company has practically doubled its personnel. At the current time 84 workers in Krasnodar and 115 in subsidiary of the town of Bryukhovetskaya are employed in the company.

The company Bonduelle took a decision to build its first Russian factory for canned vegetables, in Krasnodar Krai, based on agricultural, economic and political conditions for development of business in the Kuban, and also the investment attractiveness of the region.

The cost of the project is 40 million Euros over more than 5 years. Preparation of the project was carried out over three years, and realisation began in November 2003. We are pleased to inform that our project is successfully developing and the factory is already working almost at full capacity.

CLAAS is the leading producer of agricultural equipment on a world scale. In 2003 the company took a decision to build a combine factory in Krasnodar Krai, Russia. By doing this CLAAS became the first western manufacturer of agricultural equipment with its own production facility in Russia. The aim was to supply the market with local product and in this way meet consumer demand more effectively. The volume of investment is approximately 20 million Euros and more over a period of several years. The production project was created in such a way that in the future local producers of parts will be more active in the manufacturing process. Several hundred work places have already been created, which directly or indirectly aids local added cost.

The basis for successful development of this project in Krasnodar Krai is the good investment environment, effective cooperation with the Administration, and last but not least the personal support of the Administration of the region.

Krasnodar Krai is especially attractive for foreign investors thanks to its huge agricultural and industrial potential, well developed transport infrastructure and ports, as well as the positive attitude to business of the policy of local authorities.
