I sincerely welcome participants and guests of the Sochi International Economic Forum.

This is the sixth time when Sochi receives representatives of business, state authority and science. During this time the Forum has earned great reputation among the business community of not only our country but also abroad. Its success has become an indicator of strengthening of the economic potential of Kuban and the South of Russia in general.

This year the high status of the Forum has been supported by our victory in the Olympic marathon. Sochi will be the host city of the Winter Olympic Games in 2014 for the first time in Russia. And real competitions for the right to take part in the implementation of Olympic mega-projects will start at this Forum already: construction of sports and hotel complexes, stadiums, infrastructural objects. And, like in sport, let the strongest win in fair struggle!

The Sochi Economic Forum has given a ticket to life to many interesting investment projects. Hundreds of round tables with representatives of business community and public authorities have been conducted.

This year our Forum will be visited by 10,000 participants from Russia, near-abroad countries, the European Union and the Middle East. 1,500 investment projects will be presented in the very centre of the resort city of Sochi. There will be three days of informal communication between the guests and participants of the Forum and key figures of the Russian Government, regional leaders and potential partners.

Kuban is the southernmost and rapidly developing region of Russia, one of the best platforms to start investing in Russia. I am sure that everyone, who will explore the opportunities of our region, will come to a firm decision to develop its business in Krasnodar Region.
