RESULTS OF KRASNODAR REGION PARTICIPATION IN THE WORK OF FORUM "SOCHI-2008"
8400 people took part in the Sochi 2008 forum, including 1250 foreign citizens from 40 countries around the world
The largest delegations were from Germany, Italy and Turkey.
In total seven official business delegations were represented at the forum: Germany, France, Finland, Belgium, Austria, Turkey and Italy.
21 foreign states were represented by heads of diplomatic missions: the French Republic, the South African Republic, Latvia, the Finnish Republic, Canada, the Republic of Belarus, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Austrian Republic, Horvatia, and the Turkish Republic, among others.
24 deputies of the Federal Assembly took part in the forum, along with 11 members of the Government of Russia, 20 Federal Ministers, 11 representatives of the Administration of the President of Russia, and 54 subjects of the Federation, including 33 of their Heads.
1186 journalists took part in the Sochi forum, of which more than 100 were representatives of the foreign press. The work of the forum was broadcast by 48 television companies (all Russian Federal channels, Russia Today, the international channels BBC, ABC Australia, and Bloomberg) and 35 radio stations. Over the three days of the forum more than 2000 publications and 130 television reports were produced.
As part of the business programme of the forum one plenary session and two conferences were held on Sochi 2014 and regional development, as well as two dozen round tables, which were attended by more than 2500 people in total. The entire business programme was broadcast on 10 internal screens and 70 monitors inside the pavilions and hotels.
The total area of the forum and the business communication zone together was 50 000 square metres.
39 regions from Russia presented their investment proposals to Russian and foreign business at the forum.
12 Russian regions concluded 66 agreements to a value of 328 billion rubles.
It should be noted that the results of a large scale questionnaire conducted during the work of the Sochi 2008 forum (total number of respondents was 1800) showed that more than half of the participants (64%) were absolutely certain that they will come to Sochi in 2009. Another third (33.5%) plan to take part in the forum next year.
Krasnodar Region presented 1500 investment projects at the Sochi 2008 forum worth a total of ˆ27 billion. Of these, half were turn key projects, that is developed to the highest international standards: with a complete business plan, cost of connection to all utilities, and agreement of all departments controlling land use.
100 of the largest projects to develop all fields of the Kuban economy were included in the Best Investment Projects in Krasnodar Region catalogue, and were also presented to forum participants.
The result of the work of the Krasnodar Region delegation at the Sochi 2008 forum was the signing of 253 investment agreements, half as much again as at the Sochi 2007 forum.
As a result, large scale investment will be directed to development of the fuel and energy sector of our region.
The large Russian oil and gas company, Transnefteprodukt, will invest more than ˆ500 million in the Sizran-Saratov-Volgograd-Black Sea Coast main petroleum product pipeline, which will pass through Krasnodar Region.
The Russian companies Obedinennaya Neftyanaya Gruppa and Lukoil announced their intention to invest ˆ54 million and ˆ16 million respectively in development of the oil and gas sector of Krasnodar Region.
In the near future the Armavir heavy machine engineering factory will begin construction of a gas turbine electric power station in Armavir with a capacity of 28 megawatts, which will guarantee the uninterrupted work of industrial concerns in the town. It is planned that not less than ˆ35 million will be directed to realisation of this project.
In its turn the Graund company from Lipetsk is to invest approximately ˆ10 million in construction of a gas turbine electric power station with a capacity of 8 megawatts in Goryachii Klyuch.
Large scale investment projects in the sphere of industrial production are also be realised in the Region. According to specialists’ forecasts, our Region has every chance of becoming in the near future the largest industrial centre not only within the Southern Federal District, but in the whole of Russia.
The San Goben company will invest ˆ50 million in construction of a factory in Belorechenskii District to process agricultural products, and make juices and juice drinks under the famous trademarks of Viko, Sochnaya Dolina and others.
The Lissant ventilator factory, St Petersburg, is ready to invest more than ˆ10 million in construction of a factory to produce sandwich panels in the northern industrial zone of Armavir.
The volume of production of mineral fertilisers in Krasnodar Region by the Evrochem company continues to grow. By the end of this year more than 450 million rubles will have been invested in developing production.
Large scale investments will be directed to the construction sphere of our region. In the near future new comfortable residential accommodation complexes will appear in the towns and districts of the Kuban, urban districts and housing estates with all the necessary social infrastructure: kindergartens, schools, medical facilities, shops, cafes, car parks and recreation areas.
More than ˆ600 million will be invested by the Biznes-Gorod company in realising the project to build the Aleksandrovskii Sad residential district in Krasnodar.
Moscow’s Stroikontinent is ready to invest approximately ˆ200 million in construction of a multi-functional residential complex in the Kostinskii District in Sochi. The Russian company Saks also intends to make its own investment in development of Russia’s most important resort: ˆ140 million will be directed to construction of a multi-functional residential complex in the central district of the resort town.
A new modern residential complex will also appear in Anapa. The Stroiklass company will invest more than ˆ130 million in this project.
In its turn the Obedinennaya Upravlyayuschaya Kompaniya will invest approximately ˆ70 million in construction of the Klyuchevoi residential district in Temryukskii District.
The Naftatrans company intends to invest ˆ50 million in construction of the Krakovo residential complex in Kavkazskii District in the Region. In addition the Russian company RV Trans plans to invest more than ˆ30 million in complex construction of the Golubaya Bukhta district in Gelendzhik.
Representatives of business also expressed traditionally high level interest in projects in the resort sector in the Region.
The Russian company Otel-Development will invest around ˆ220 million in reconstruction of resort facilities in Gelendzhik.
The Imperial company will direct more than ˆ200 million to construction of the Khosta-Bravo multi-functional complex in the host of the 2014 white Olympics, the town of Sochi.
Yuzhnoe Vzmore company is ready to invest more than ˆ100 million in setting up a modern resort-spa complex in Tuapsinskii District.
Skala Grez company will invest around ˆ30 million in construction of the Panorama apartment hotel in Anapa as part of the Zolotaya Bukhta project.
Bioresources and the consumer sphere of the Region also attracted their share of attention. A large scale agreement was concluded with the Kaviar Kubani company. The investor will direct ˆ180 million to construction of a factory to breed sturgeon fish.
In its turn the Stroiinvest company intends to build a Krasnaya Ploschad shopping and entertainment complex in the town of Eisk. The investor will direct more than ˆ30 million to realisation of the project.
MTS company is ready to invest approximately ˆ200 million in development of third generation telecommunications in Krasnodar Region, including development of the 3G network and construction of fibre-optic networks. In addition, MTS will take part in preparing the telecommunications infrastructure of Sochi for the hosting of the Winter Olympics in 2014. By the end of 2008 the 3G network will be in operation in Sochi, Krasnodar, Anapa, Novorossiisk, Tuapse and Gelendzhik.
Sberbank of Russia, the SOGAZ insurance company, the Moscow Stock Exchange, Svedbank and KMB Bank, the Russian representative of major Italian banking group Inteze Sanpaolo, announced their intention to participate in development of the financial and stock markets of Krasnodar Region.
The Rossiiskii Selskokhozyaistvennii Bank intends to collaborate with Krasnodar Region in realising the State Programme to develop agriculture and regulation of the markets for agricultural produce, raw materials and food stuffs for 2008-2012.
