Russian Federation Minister of Economic Development Elvira Nabiullina, Russian Federation Minister of Regional Development Dmitriy Kozak and Governor of Krasnodar Region Alexander Tkachev, noted the increasing importance of the Forum in Sochi, addressing the participants of the Plenary Session.
Elvira Nabiullina said, “Our Forum is a key economic event in the life of our country. It features actual projects which promote the economic and investment potential of the South of Russian and the entire country. Though the Russian economy is passing through a difficult time, the financial system is readjusted, and this is a challenge for us, additional opportunities which Russia will certainly use are also opened. We shall put the main emphasis in our activity on development and attraction of private investments.”
Dmitriy Kozak stated, “I am sure that the Forum has become one of the reasons of Sochi’s win in the Olympic race in Guatemala. It has made it possible for the entire world to know the advantages of Sochi. We should develop a favourable investment environment, which we have managed to create in Sochi, throughout the country. This Forum with all its benefits is an impulse for development of our country, city, region, the South of Russia.”
Alexander Tkachev noted, “Over seven years of work of the International Economic Forum in Sochi, everybody has seen for themselves that this point of meeting of the authorities and the business cannot be changed. The Forum has been and still is a forum for businessmen, a platform for making business – 500 investment agreements amounting to USD 30 billion have been signed in Sochi over six years. I am confident that this tradition will continue despite the world financial crisis.” |
