The Silk Road 2010 international rally
The finish of the Silk Road 2010 rally will take place in the city of Sochi on 18 September.
The international rally consists of eight stages and will take place from 11 to 18 September within Russia following a route from St Petersburg to Sochi. The rally will take in parts of three legendary trade routes: the Silk Road, the Volga Trade Route, and the chronicled trade route from the Varangians to the Greeks. The competition will cover 4400 kilometres, of which more than 2000 kilometres will be special speed stages. The rally is included in the calendar of inter-regional, All-Russian and international sporting events for 2010. The rally enjoys Dakar Series status.
